Students who attend the workshop learn how to comparison-shop for credit and how to understand the fine print on a credit card agreement. They also walk away with a clear understanding of how financial decisions they make today can help or hurt them in the future.
21st Century Cons Workshop: A workshop designed to juxtapose famous cons from history and fiction with their 21st century equivalents that are perpetrated online today, in order to teach students to avoid online scams and protect their identities.
Student Loan Workshop: An event for students who will graduate with student loan debt, this workshop teaches basics about interest rates, repayment plans, grace periods, consolidation, deferment, and moreāall the concepts that new graduates need to know to make informed decisions when they start repaying their loans. Students who attend the event also learn how to manage their loans in a tight job market and find out how new federal legislation affects their loans.
Tenants Rights Workshop: A workshop that gives students a clear understanding of their rights and responsibilities as tenants, along with strategies to safeguard their security deposit and build relationships with landlords. The workshop also features a brief exercise that teaches would-be renters to identify unenforceable lease clauses.
