When the Metropolitan Transit Authority raised fares on subways, buses and commuter rail lines, NYPIRG's Straphangers Campaign leapt into action. Discovering that the budget numbers the MTA used to explain the need for a hike didn't add up, Straphangers sued in New York State court — and won!
