Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Act of 2002 (formerly Intro 205A)

A lead poisoning prevention bill, The Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Act of 2002 (formerly Intro 205A), which would replace both LL1 and LL38, will be reintroduced in the current council. This bill, which has attracted the support of many of the constituencies that opposed LL 38, is a modern, comprehensive approach that covers not only housing, but also lead hazards in schools, day care centers, and playgrounds. A summary of it's key provisions, and additional information on the lead poisoning issue can be found on this site.

The text of the bill is posted here: www.nmic.org/nyccelp/laws/Lead-Paint-Poisoning-Prevention-Act-of-2002.htm.
