Spotlight: Nine of the Most Potentially Hazardous Playgrounds around the State

Twenty-five playgrounds of the 148 playgrounds included in this year's survey contained 5-7 potential hazards. Nine of the most potentially hazardous playgrounds identified around the state include:

1. Lincoln Park, Parkhurst & Decatur, Tonawanda
Hazard Score: 7 (unsafe surface, inadequate fall zones, toxic playground risk, unsafe equipment height, head entrapment, clothing entanglement, litter)

2. Washington Square Playground, East Fourth & Bridge Streets, Oswego
Hazard Score: 7 (inadequate fall zones, toxic playground risk, unsafe equipment height, unsafe swings, head entrapment, clothing entanglement, litter)

3. Van Rensselaer Playground, Ten Broeck Place & Ten Broeck Rd, Albany
Hazard Score: 6 (unsafe surface, inadequate fall zones, toxic playground risk, unsafe equipment height, head entrapment, litter)

4. Spring Valley Memorial Park, Dr. Berg Road & Veteran's Road, Spring Valley
Hazard Score: 6 (unsafe surface, toxic playground risk, unsafe equipment height, head entrapment, clothing entanglement, litter)

5. Northside Park, North Hudson & Dedrick, Johnson City

6. Fort Tyron Park, Cabrini Ave. & Fort Washington., Manhattan
