Erie County Action Alert!
Erie County Legislators Make the Pesticide Neighbor Notification Law PERMANENT!
Erie County legislators unanimously voted to permanently adopt the Pesticide Neighbor Notification Law. The County Legislature has passed this law twice, first in 2003 for a one-year trial period, and again in 2004, for a two-year period. This time around, however, legislators finally decided to adopt this common sense, right-to-know law on a permanent basis.
The Next Step: Having County Executive Joel Giambra Sign the Bill into Law!
While applauding the Legislature for voting to make this law permanent, we must now urge County Executive Giambra to sign the bill into law. Executive Giambra has signed the bill both times the Legislature previously adopted it, and we must make sure he follows this pattern. Executive Giambra will hold a public hearing on Thursday, December 14th at 10:00 AM on the 14th Floor of the Rath County Office Building in Buffalo. This will be the final step towards making pesticide neighbor notification a permanent fixture for Erie County residents.
What you can do:
Contact Executive Giambri and attend the public hearing to urge him to sign the bill into law once and for all.
You can contact him at 716-858-8500 or write to : Joel Giambra
