Another ill-conceived residential subdivision plan calls for 81 single-family homes to be built on 170 acres of ridge-top open space in the Town of Patterson, Putnam County. Due to the proximity of the project proposal to the East Branch Reservoir and the Great Swamp, the threat to water quality is considerable. The steep slopes at the site would make proper septic system siting difficult and increase stormwater threats. The project also calls for taking a number of valuable wetlands.
